battery cable Alpine V

I think I need to replace the positive cable of my negatively-ground
Alpine V. (I'm getting a weak connection - and I checked the negative
ground) Before I rip out the old one I wanted to ask the list a few
questions:

1) Is it one piece from the post to the solenoid?

2) What can anybody tell me about its path (I can't really follow it w/o
getting underneath).
