I had a problem with my fuel line on my Alpine. The car sat for 15
years and the gas in the line slugged up solid. This also happened on
my '67 Honda S 800. On my S 800 it was much more a severe problem and I
had to replace the whole length of fuel line.
The Alpine was only plugged from the pick up tube in the tank and about
2 feet forward and at the front near the pump & I initially blamed the
problem on the pump.
I got an old speedometer cable and 3/8" VSR electric drill and
roto-rooted the line. Ya gotta be careful not to let the speedo cable
whip around outside of the tubing. I started with a short piece then
went to the 6' piece. After awhile I blew compressed air through the
tube to see if it was open. To continue the process, disconnect tube to
carbs and operate pump to clean lines.
Besides the glass bowl filter was there no other in line fuel filter on
a Series II?
