There has been some banter as of late about resleeving brake parts so
I thought I'd pass on some information that may be of value to some of
you.
A couple of years ago I located a fellow through Hemmings to sleeve
my brake master cylinder. I was so pleased with the work and the price
that I called him to do my servo. If you don't know, the servo has
five stepped bores. My research turned up that most sleevers at the
time were charging $50-60 per bore! My man, though he had never done a
Girling servo, said he'd do mine for $150 with stainless steel. Well,
it turned out great. My servo works perfectly with no leaks. BTW, he
charged me $40 for the master cylinder. Both prices included shipping.
Anyone interested in a quality job and a fair price should go to the
guy listed below. However, I can't guarantee that his prices are still
so low. He may have had a heart attack doing my servo the first time
;-)
