I constantly see the comparisons between the Alpine and the Thunderbird.
But, has anyone else ever noticed the striking similarity between the
Alpine and the Aston Martin DB4 (that's the one that looks like the James
Bond car, but has ringed headlights instead of the covered headlights)? If
you slightly pucker the grill and stretch the bonnet out, it really is
similar. And the rear tailights are of similar design too. The Aston
Martin has three verticle circles, in similar formation to the Alpine
shape. The Alpine early bumper uprights are almost identical, as are the
front turnsignals, and the body shape at the same spot. The line from the
top of the front fender to the back of the later tail fins is basically
identical. The shape of the windshield is basically the same. And then
there's the Harrington.
So much for the poor-man's Cobra, let's hear it for the poor-man's Aston
Martin!
Hey, mine even has that great oil slick trick that 007's car had!
Ok, so if that's all true, how come, if offered, I'd trade the two before
you can say Moneypenny? But, then I'd guess that Tiger owners would do the
same for a Cobra.
