Hi Jarrid

Last night I got a chance to pull the series II schematic from the
web..

     http://www.tgx.com/bridge/sunbeam/image/diagrams/wiring.gif

Rootes hasn't made any real change.. Even for series IIs they wired
it ecentially as I suggest.

Allmost all the running loads are connected at the dynamo side of the ammeter,
via the lead from A1. (Ignition, lights, blower radio...)

The only loads on the Battery side are the starter and 2 accessories,
the lighter and a bonnet light. My guess they cheated by not meetering
these accessory currents so that you wouldn't get concerned seeing a
discharge if you used them with the engine off.

The one confusing thing is the overdrive connections, one to the
OD-solenoid from the battery side and one to the OD-control from the
dynamo side... what could they have been thinking. Must have been
some sort of patch to fit it in...

Regardless the series V overdrive connects differently ..
a single connection directly to the switched ignition.

I take it back it dosen't seem Rootes needed someone from Chrysler
to teach them how to hook up an ammeter.. they pritty much had it right
by the series II design.
