Well, Halon is certainly one of the CFC's that the EPA wants to do away
with, but is is still produced, and Halon extinguishers are still
available.
Check with racing outfits like Pegasus and the like.

They are priced to put them outside of normal commercial availabilty.

Last year, my Halon extinguisher cost $100 USD, and this year probably
twice that. Refilling it now costs over $100 USD.

I had to buy a fire system for the race alpine, and it also is loaded
with
Halon. It holds 5 lbs of the magic gas, and refilling it costs as much
as
a new one, which is in the $500 USD range.

If I ever catch the alpine on fire, I'll have to think really carefully
weather
or not to pull the pin on it, or pull out some marshmellows, and watch
it
burn.
