Jarrid:
That's great info on cams and your other ideas. I'm going to check out the
header from SS. I didn't know this existed for Alpines. I have had some
head work done already. I'm going to look into your street/strip grind.
To Everyone:
I'll also keep the list posted on Alpine & other Rootes content of the
magazine as I go along. (Help me out by sending in articles, photos, etc).
In fact, the cover of the upcoming February issue has an Alpine on it from
an unusual Rootes ad for overseas delivery. The back cover even has an Imp
on it!!! I also included a couple of tech tips that apply equally to Tigers
and Alpines re: electrical problems under the hood and also a bit about
problems folding the soft top all the way down. I copped the last one off
the discussion in the Tiger group on the web.
To all you Alpine and other Rootes car owners out there, seriously consider
coming to this year's Tigers United in Big Bear California this summer (and
maybe joining CAT again). My wife and I are putting on the event and ALL
Rootes cars WILL be welcome and appreciated. I'll post more specific info
on this next month for those of you who aren't presently in CAT or STOA.
When I joined CAT many years ago we had a good number of Alpine owners and
even a couple of Rapiers and a Hillman or two. I know there are a few
active Imps still around. We're all in the same car family and we should
pool our resources again, if you ask me. Those of you who've been to a
Sunbeams Northwest meet will know what I'm aiming for.
Thanks!
Steve Sage
