Paul,

when I rigged up my temp guage it was apparent that there is built in
adjustment. You can loosen a nut on the back of the guage and then tilt the
internals by moving the bolt within its slot. It is slotted so I figure
movement was appropriate. I can't remember exactly which one it is, but
with the guage out you should be able to tell.

This movement adjusts the reading up or down. The thing which suprised me
was that it went up when I thought it would go down, but I'm not really big
on the way magnetic fields work anyway.

Mine read really low, and after the adjustment nows reads slightly high, it
would be possible to get a thermometer and adjust it to be "perfect". You
need to remove the guage from the car and perform the operation in the
engine bay from my experience. Just be careful with shorting the wires.

Also, make sure there are three wires going to the back of the guage:
earth, power and sender unit.

hope this helps,

Anthony, series II.
