I guess too many Idaho potatoes stuffed in the exhaust of anything - man, beast or machine will cause severe swelling of the CID. But did you know that the potatoes from Aroostok County in the State of Maine have much greater nutritional value than any from Idaho? I have personally witnessed a 351 CID (in my '61 Country Squire 'woody' - it was really MacTac trim) grow to 460 CID (in my '75 T'Bird)(that would be the one that netted $28 at the recent auction).
Actually, I lie - the 351 CID 'woody' '61 was bought by an L.L. Bean customer (yes L.L. Bean was about 1/2 mile down the road from the 'woody's' residence in Freeport, Maine - and you know their motto - what do you want to buy - and for how much?).
Never tried potatoes in the Black Beauty - wonder if they would have stopped the lower bearing rap in my 'adapted' Series IV - with 1725 cc add-on - the skins were certainly tough enough.
Ever noticed how quickly you can tell an Alpine buff from a 'trifler' - just takes a few words - in an 'ad' or whatever.
Bring on the 360 CID Tiger - I want to see how many spark plugs have to be accessed through the firewall.
Now if only we could get the Mole to give us an update on the Black Beauty - 'rapping' bearings, 'falling off hardtops' etc.
