Please folks, let's once and for all kill off this "sb" means special-body myth. As Tom Wiencek and others have stated before, based on information provided in Rootes' own code books, "sb" stands for SEALED BEAM. Unfortunately, the reason this stamping was necessary has yet to be fully explained.

Jay is right that Seacrest Green (color code 30) was Rootes' official racing livery, but as a production color it was only available on Series II Alpines. Scott Christie Series 3 Alpine Registry
