Two 1725 engines that I have resurected came with 4 blade fans on them.

One of the SV engines I bought was a very low milage engine, and the pully and fan had the original rootes flat black paint on it. Those of you who may have purchased new OEM 1725 timing covers should find the paint to be identical. The paint does not appear to have been a laquer as it holds up well to solvents.

My original 1592 engine on my SII has the 6 blade fan, which works wonderfull on the 1725, BUT is a tad noisier.

Jay, my recommendation is to buy a 4 blade fan, and store it away some place, and use the 6 blade you already have. It may not be correct, but it does a great job of sucking air.
