I am installing my wiring harness back into my 65 SV and am having
difficulty with wiring the ammeter. All help would be appreciated.
First, there is no such item in the wiring diagram in my shop manual but
here's what I have so far. There are 4 large gauge wire running through
the firewall but not bundled in the harness; two red, two brown. Of the
two red, one comes from the alternator to one of the middle two
terminals on the ammeter. The other red wire goes from the opposite
middle terminal of the ammeter to the batt terminal on the solenoid.
Of the brown wires, the only thing I know about them is I removed them
from the upper two terminals from the ammeter. Questions: where do
they go and is this an aftermarket fixup job or did these four wires
truly come from the factory NOT bundled in the harness?
