Jay,
With all others I am glad you were not injured in the accident!
Your posting today raises a question about insurance claims. If your car is
'totaled' did your [or will you] have any problem keeping the wreck for
salvage of the undamaged components?
If a person knew he could keep [or buy back] the wreck then he would not need
to get as much for the car in an insurance claim. For example if fair market
value is, say, $5,000 and the car were totaled could I buy the wreck back for,
say, $1,000 and end up with the wreck and $4,000 cash [to use to acquire a new
chassis]?
Has anyone else had the unhappy experience of dealing with this issue, or any
good/bad stories about insurance companies?
