Gearbox feels thick

Shifting into 2 and 4 feels thick and is getting worse.

Now, going up over a steep bridge the overdrive kicked out and again on a
fast corner.

Also, when speeding up the OD is not going in right away when the lever is
flicked.

The shifting thickening problem is very new.

The slow response from the OD usually indicates oil level but I checked and
it is just fine.

Rebuild?

I could use some thoughts.
