Not explicitely. Did it used to latch? Is it wired right?

We went through this last year, it would seem that you ought to use thw clutch, but some people came up with valid reasons why you ought not to.
Anyhow, the OD unit is actually a two speed automatic transmision, and really shouldnt need to be clutched.
I think ultimately it came down to preference as nobody could recall killing an OD for any other reason but low oil or abuse.
