Some Peugeots were actually assembled in Australia, although not at the old Rootes factory. My own 505 is an Australian-made example.

I forgot to say incidentally, my hire car for the trip was a Coventry-built Peugeot 306. Not a bad little car, but not half as interesting as the factory's earlier products.
