Lets not forget series IV all sync trannies too, definately 10 spline input. Never seen anything but 10 splines in the rear.
The input shaft can be swapped out directly between fine and coarse spline trannies.
Also dont think Chryslor would have spent the additional money in changing the gear ratios for the new all-synch, anyhow, I have one of each "fine/coarse" all sync trannies, and they have identical cluster assemblies, only the inputs are different.
Also as a matter of trivia, the SV tranny "but not the all sync SIV", has excelent driving gear ratios second only to the SIII, which had closer ratios, and were it not for first gear whine, I'd have one in my car too.
Best of the best? Series III tranny with Overdrive, and a 4.55 gearset. This is the setup used by the factory SII racecars.
