might there no be a a fine spline / coarse spline clutch plate problem here? or could Tom use ser V fork, bearing, clutch bits and flywheel ??? is clutch cylinder bore a factor?

I second Scott's sentiments here, the definitive article has yet to be written, IMHO. I'm hoping for stock ser V engine AND trans in my ser III, but haven't yet identified the series of all those gearboxes I've got! I'll come back to this nearer the time, I think. Andy
