You want a really effective very low pressure drop filter? Get a filter for a fuel injected car "one that has barbed tube ends". I think I got one for a late model Buick 3800 V6 Regal? Cost is around $10, but they filter much smaller particles with way lower flow restiction.

The sacrifice? Size, it is about 4 inches long, and 3 inches around.
