mounting config to the adapter. Position from the mounting to the
pump cam is the same, as is the position and size of the spigot
bearing at the end of the mainshaft. No mods "minus driveshaft"
are required.
Bill Lewis is the only person I know who has a Volvo OD unit.
One thing though, Some british leyland cars "Spitfire at least", also used the D type OD. I took one of these apart at one time. The really important difference here was that the oil pump on this specific model was not a roller, but rather "con rod" that encompassed the tranny main shafts offset journal and did not have a return spring. This would be incompatible with the Rootes arrangement, but it looked like the pump could be replaced with the roller type that the alpines and volvos used. BTW the spitfire also had the flanged output.
