I took my old radiator to a radiator shop and they ordered a new core. Apparently the core material (tubes and flutes) is manufactured in huge "sheets". The radiator shop calls up and orders a piece to fit and a new core arrives a few days later with the header panels already soldered in place. All the radiator shop has to do is transfer the tanks from your radiator to the new core and you've got yourself a new radiator. (1) I think I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $150 for my conversion (in alabama about a year ago). (2) I was unable to locate a new radiator. (3) I removed the shroud and fan and replaced them both with an electric fan place in front of the radiator. It works nicely.

I hope this helps,
