<< I don't think this is my problem, but I ran a little low on Trans. oil, and suffered some damage. I can still use OD, but when I decelerate, there is a crunching, grinding sound and slack in the driveline. This sounds likes sun wheel/planet wheel complex to me. Any comments and probable fix? I know the sun wheels are available, but where can I get the planet wheels and carrier? >>

Can't say that I've ever had to have any of my ODs apart. (knock wood!)
>From the list, it would appear the whole rear section of the OD is compatible
with a Volvo unit. Perhaps you can find one of those, and just replace the
rear half?? Maybe another lister has input on whether the gears alone from
a Volvo unit will interchange as a set? (the ratio is purportedly different)
