Sure you 've all heard of them - a couple of years back when I found the
'Nowhwere Alpine' - the manager of the motel where it had been abandoned
and I could not get the hood open to get a serial# - or anything - my
trusty Stanley-Bar - you know the ones with one right angle bent end and
one sloped end - used - a piece of cloth and the bent end of the Stanley
Bar - - to pry open the hood - didn't even crack the paint - with a can
of gas and a jump start from my van - it ran beauitifully - then it
disappeared into the Police compound - never to be seen again - at least
not by me - it was a sort of metallic turquoise - not an orignal Alpine
colour - but a great paint job neveretheless - wonder where it went ?
It seemed to be completely stock - although the ignition swith and a few
other things were ripped out of the dash - I had an ignition switch
among my souveneirs - and sort of hot wired it to get it going - it
purred - some day I hope I learn where the "Nowhere Alpine" went - it
can't be dead - it was such a beauty - somebody out there is driving it
- maybe illegally - are YOU driving a turquoise Alpine - and if so -
where did you get it?
(Series IV or V - can't remember now which it was - from the serial
number )
