carb, engine for sale

Ok, I blew it with lack of detail.

Actually, the carb I mentioned for sale is attached to the engine which also happens to be attached to the transmission I mention, all of which are attached to a SV! I bought two Alpines from someone last weekend. They were a package set. I was more interested in the hard top and the GT interior on the SIV one. So, I did not pay attention to the rest. I'll have to take a look for details on quality of the engines.

Really, pretty much everything from the two cars is available (except the hard top and GT parts). I just figured the carb, manifold and transmission were the more interesting parts.

Actually, the SV car is out near Pasadena now (someone picked that one up for me and took it to his place for the body panels - he will take anything ). The SV front end seems to have a bit of bondo. The SIV front corner has a good hit (needing a replacement front part of a fender and front valience), and the passenger door and rear wheel well has a good crease in it - but the rest is pretty darn straight, with no immediately apparent rust attacks. The trunk is really really clean, including the original spare tire (which seems like a neat thing to keep for car shows). The SIV is an automatic. The SIV wheels have what appear to be a pretty low mileage set of TA Radials. But, they did sit for some time with less than full pressure (though they all did have some pressure and were not resting on the rims). The SIV could probably be restored just fine - except that I figure I am going to take the GT bits. According to the seller, the SIV was his wife's grandmother's car (who lived in Pasadena). And, except for the accident, shows little abuse other than long time neglect.

I cannot make any claims about the condition of the engines/transmissions etc when the cars were parked. I will call the seller and ask what stopped them from running.

I had hoped I might complete my tool kit. But as it turned out, only a tool kit pouch, spark plug wrench and bar, lug nut wrench and jack were there. None of which I need.

The SIV is at my house in Agoura, at the north end of LA County along the 101 freeway.

I have some feel for prices, but I'm not out to be in the business. So, I am flexible. It would probably be pretty difficult for me to ship anything big.

Oh, one more thing, he did have a collection of Hot Wheels. Thousands of them. He had a display case in his house with just a few hundred. One of them was a Sunbeam Alpine, SI/SII, gold with black top. It was actually a Husky, or some other toy builder. He would not part with it. He paid over $100 for it after looking for many years.
