Thanks to the following people for advice:

Dick Sanders, pilot bushing, tightness of bolts. How do I check for wear here, or do I just replace it anyway. I have the 'hydraulic removal' tip from this very list, so I have half an idea how to get the thing out. Do I lubricate the inside of the new bush before the gearbox goes back in? I will definitely check bolt tighness. Most of the bolts so far have been far to easy to remove! (Except the !(at)#$% drain plug on the OD, it's STUCK)

Jarrid Gross, rear freeze plug. I have never done one of these before. I suspect I whack a big screwdriver through the old one, lever it out, clean up the hole and insert a new one. What do I use to seal the plug?

Gary Strom, resurface flywheel. The flywheel is nice and smooth. I'm light on cash. Is it some sort of false economy to leave it as is?

On things clutch, I have the old coil-spring pressure plate and carbon thrust bearing. I am told that I can change to a diaphragm-type pressure plate and roller bearing (I must also use the later throw-out lever). Has anyone done this?

I'm glad I pulled the gearbox anyway. The clutch plate is less than 1mm away from the rivets and the thrust bearing has about the same amount left on it.

Thanks again for all the help. Cheers, Paul.
