Early fastbacks, thru mid-'68(?), came with D-types; then they went to J- types. I assume that's where yours came from.
I recall someone writing in The Horn a while back that J-types would bolt up OK, but the J-type is a physically larger unit, and fitting it in the tunnel and thru the X-member was always the $1M question.
