Alpines on parade

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we're doing our part to promote Alpines to the greater world at large. This Saturday, 4-5 Alpines from our Pacific Tiger Club will lead off the parade in downtown North Bend, Washington. North Bend is a small town located 25 miles east of Seattle in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Each year the community celebrates "Alpine Days" with a parade, car show, music, food booths and fireworks. I suggested to the event organizers to consider employing a platoon of Sunbeam Alpines carry the grand marshalls and dignitary types to lead off the parade (it certainly seemed more appropriate than stuffing them into Miatas or something). It may be small town, but how often do Alpines get to be in the spotlight?

We'll give a full report next week to the group on how the event was received and whether it's likely to become an annual tradition.
