I'm still looking for anyone who has modified their mechanical tach to
electric. I've taken the mechanical part out and put a VDO electronic tach
in the alpine housing. The tack fits fine with the alpine face, but I want to
use the alpine pointer. The shop that is working on it said that the stock
alpine pointer is to heavy. We taken out the counter weights and I ready to
start shaving weight off the pointer itself ( on the back side). Has anyone
tried this?
I really want to maintain the looks of the original tach and speedo. I'm
switching the engine in my series III to a series IV. Any help is
appreciated.
