Sunbeam Screensaver

While spending too much time on-line recently, I came across a little
shareware program this fellow has written that allows you to create a custom
screensaver. It is named, all too appropriately if you ask me, Screen Paver
(insert standard disclaimer here). I liked this one, in addition to its
name, in that it was "no-nag" and the fellow only wants $5 if you like it.
While on my work's high speed Internet connection I hit all the sites I
could remember and shamelessly saved off all the pictures of the Series
Alpines I could find. Inside of 15 minutes I had over 4MB of pictures and a
really nifty screen saver that cycles through the 36 some .jpg pictures I
downloaded.

The pictures that I got were a real mish-mash, everything from pictures of
rusted out trailer riders, to the prettiest restored job you could find, I
picked up some period advertising pictures and some old magazine article
pictures. They also ranged in size and quality from a thumbnail to larger
than my screen can handle. The quality was also _very_ variable.

If anyone wants to make one themselves, Screen Paver can be found at
http://tni.net/~mlindell/ScreenPaver.html and I recommend the Team.Net
pictures gallery as a place to start. If you like, I am also happy to sent
a copy of what I've collected to anyone (be warned, compression works poorly
on graphics and it still tops out around 5MB). If there is interest,
someone might be interested in helping collect pictures and re-distributing
them? I'd like to but my skills with the graphic arts are about as pathetic
as imaginable and my ISP allots a measly 1MB for a web site, meanwhile, if
anyone has any favorite pictures they would like to add to my collection . .
