The resistor plugs reduce the the RF generated by the secondary
of the ignition. It is also wise to use carbon resistor high tension wires
as well.

Since the spark plug voltage is load dependant, and putting more
voltage in wont increase the spark energy, or even the spark voltage,
The seconday voltage will assume the ionization potential of the plug,
then drop all excess across the secondary wires, or load the
secondary coil. The higher resistance, allows the secondary voltage
to assume a higher voltage, by current limiting the plug current.
This reduces EMI, and lets the coil run cooler.

There is only anominal increase in plug energy with solid core wires,
and conventional plugs.

Also, many electonic ignitions wont run propperly without resistor
plugs and wires.
