I bought my hardtop in 1971 and restored it (which includes making a new
headliner) in about 1972. The material is a very common white,
perforated (with very tiny holes) and is very simular to the '56 Tbird
material (actually, I used the same material when I was restoring my
friend's T Bird). I think there where "bows" (on top of the headliner)
that hold the headliner tight. Do you have these?? If you don't, maybe
one could bend them from some metal stock (maybe 3/16 inch diameter
steel rod material). I made my headliner by tracing each panel from the
old headliner. The panels are sewn together and also sewn the channels
that the bows are contained. Contact cement is used around the edges to
hold the edge of the headliner tight. It takes some patience to get the
wrinkles out. In time, it will shrink more and get drum tight and look
very nice...Jan

P.S. I have my cylinder head back on the engine. I needed two new
exhaust valves and I got these from Tiger auto.

Everything is nice and clean and repainted. I haven't heard the engine
run since 1975. It's going to be pretty cool. Next, the brake system and
hopefully, get the car on the road before the snow arrives....
