I can confirm that, I replaced my plastic fuel t-piece on my Sunbeam Stiletto
with two 1.25 inch strombergs with one of those "compression fittings T piece"
as well, works and looks great besides no mods !

I think you got it about right, a little more advanced then specified is
ok and prevents pinking with the fuel we got in the Netherlands it works.
Too much advanced and you will lose power again.
(It's different again when you got non standard cams etc.)
