Mounting an external generic condensor outside the distributor from the
dist terminal (to low side of the coil) to the dist case will be perfectly
acceptable, and will allow just about any off the shelf condensor to be
used if the correct part is not available.

The actual value of the condensor is not really important, its main
purpose is to keep the points from arcing, and just about any
automotive points condensor will work just fine.
