As many have found, the year of the car can be misleading as to what
model you trully have.
There was a switch in the polarisation of the generator in the 1964
production time frame.
Few of your electrics are going to care about the polarity issue
except for the smiths electric tach which incidently will say positive
or negative ground right on the face plate.
Gauges dont care about the mixup,
blower motors do,
wiper motors sort of do (return switch must be adjsusted),
Starter relay and starter doesnt care,
lights dont care.
Mechanical regulators (for generator and instrumentation) dont care,
generators dont care after the field has been polarized,
alternators really care, but dont think there are pos ground lucas alts.
Hope this helps a tad.
