RE: Alpine Replacement Body

I'd say Kurt's the man for this car, but I have a perfectly running 99.9%
original 62 Series II that I'll be doing the old engine/tranny swap thing to
shortly. If anyone is interested in obtaining a "pure" Alpine I'd be
interested in selling or trading for a machine (series II or III preferred)
like this one minus the motor and drive train.

If Kurt's not interesetd in this car and we can work something out, cool (I
particularly like S III's). I'm in NorCal. Just puttin' it out there for
those who don't want to see an Alpine "Butchered".

For Sale: 63 Series III Alpine GT OD, 71,000 miles, always
garaged,
completely original. Absolutely no rust, SoCal Car...*this
car has the
cleanest undercarriage I have ever seen (no rust, bumps
dents etc). Interior
is in very good condition. Engine is out and shortblock is
completely
rebuilt as follows: .030 over pistons, new wristpins,
bushings , Pointy Fin
rod bolts. Crank mains have been polished and rod brngs at
.010 to make sure
they are perfect. Balancing: Pistons have been balanced to
+/- 1 Gram (by
cutting inside wrist pin), Crank was balanced on SW dynamic
balance machine,
front pulley added to assy and rebalanced, finally lightened
flywheel added
and balanced. This motor will be the smoothest you ever ran.
Cam has been
reground to Piper "hot road grind" config (2000-6000 rpm).
Head needs to be
re-assembled (have all new parts...SV exaust valves, new
intakes, new
guides, seals, seats. New thrust washer, head set, lifters,
oil pump, timing
                chain kit, firewall grommet set.
Engine compartment has been stripped and painted (Porsche
red...very similar
to Carnival red), Back window and rubber replaced in
hardtop(was clouded).
I bought the car to save it from the unknown....I paid
$550 for it and
have a total of $2250 invested and a lot of time I am
willing to part with.
First person with $2250 takes it away.. If I don't sell it
complete I may
part it out (what a shame you "PURISTS") as follows:

Complete overdrive trans, electricals, drive shaft (OD
seldom used)
                $ 875
Complete Engine with new parts and total rebuild ($900
parts/machine
                work) $ 500
Complete hardtop, red, original with new back rubber
glass(no rust,
                good headliner) $ 400
Complete Body and Misc Parts, extra parts received
w/car
                $ 575
Complete /Perfect original Tool kit and owners manual
with foldout
                $300

The Serial # of the car is B9205539 LRO which means it was
produced as a
Left Hand Drive Other car, not for U.S. market. The
headlights were probably
changed and the car was shipped to the U.S. late in the
production year.
The original owner (a 74 yr old man) bought it late in the
year and it was
                registered as a 1964.

Kurt.....if you or anyone else is interested I have some
.bmp images and a
video of the car and extra parts. Please email me
