Hi Fernando,
I'm not too sure about the chassis and engine numbers so I've asked the
members of the Hillman and Sunbeam Alpine mailing lists if they have any
ideas. If it has twin Webers, it sounds like a Sunbeam 1600Ti although it
may have started life as a basic Talbot Sunbeam and been fitted with the
Webers later.
The fibreglass bodywork sounds interesting. Off the showroom floor they had
steel bodies and, as far as I know, so did the works rally cars. I wonder if
it might be a special built with Talbot Sunbeam running gear.
I have a friend here who hails from Uruguay. He told me that the police
there used to have a fleet of Talbot Sunbeam Lotuses. I understand they are
largely unwanted now because of the difficulty in sourcing parts. I realise
it's on the other side of the continent from you, but I suppose if you were
desperate for parts.......

I have seen a rare Talbot Sunbeam.
Can you help me to descifrate its Vehicle Identification Number:
Chasis:T4DCXAL314014
Engine: AL314014HA
I think it is a 1978-79 car it has 2 weber carburettors and it was imported
from Holland to Perú.
It has rally car equipment and all the car seems to be fiberglass.
Here in Peru Talbot cars (French cars) were imported in 1982 and few of
them were sold ( i think 20 or 30) now they are really rare.
The Talbot sunbeam is on sale.
Mi e mail is fmurga(at)mail.cosapidata.com.pe
thanks for your help
Fernando
