            But there is also friction material to worry about. From what I
was told, longevity of the friction material and the possible "foaming" of
detergent additives were what kept many manufacturers from recommending ATF.
           Of course, manufacturers of today care little for longevity....
they want you to buy a new one in 3 years!

            Bottom line, you use what you're comfortable with. After reading
about the time and effort Rootes put into "selective fit" assembly on the
engines, I'm confident in their engineer's decisions. At least, those prior to
when Chrysler took over!
