I am new to this, so if someone can help I would appreciate it.
In 1976 I sold my 61 Sunbeam Alpine Series I to a friend who repainted
it and upholstered it. He then sold it in 1977 to another friend. It
dissappeared for 20 years and I forgot about it. 8 months ago I got
thinking about my old Alpine. I called my friend and asked him what
happened to it. As it worked out, he had a problem with it in 1978 and
parked it in one of his storage buildings. It has been in dry storage
for twenty years. We negoiated for a month or two and finally my 61
Alpine is back.
Question. My chassis # is a Series I, but I'm not sure about the
engine. On the Block, there is a number A3805622ODLUX or maybe
A3305622ODLUX. Im not sure about the 8 or 3 or the U in the LUX. Can
any one tell me what engine I might have. It has a single Solex Carb.
I have been working on it for the past several weeks and hope to have it
running in December. It wont hit the road until spring however, I may
drive it two blocks to get it inspected. Help.
