Check your local autoparts stores and surplus tools places... I bought a
takedown engine hoist (very nice) with a 4 ton ram and adjustable boom for
under $200 new , and a matching engine stand for $29. We just used it
again to put the Series III Kurt Eckert bought from me so he could transport
the car back to Vermont. We had the boom set at 1/2 its length (3/4 ton)
and slung the 1600 and od trans without any problem( engine was assembled
and mated to trans, bolted in the car in a morning). Shop around ....the
takedown ones are very easy to store!
