never sought after by Performance people. I man in San Diego has a very nice restored one painted Red with Chrome Wire Wheels and could not sell it for $6000. They make very nice little convertibles for someone in the market for stock or convertible but with a 83 hp engine and 3 spd auto with the 389 rear they are the ultimate alpine slug. However.....that tunnel is huge and you could put anykind modern day transmission in it, along with a _ _ engine! If the price is right /no rust/straight and you like it buy it! Smitty has about 10 automatics up on the shelf....it is a borg warner 35 and was used in 60's Jaguars/70's Datsuns.....I have some technical information on it from various books...Parts are still around and its easy to work on BOB -----Original Message----- From: Bill Gullatt <bgullatt(at)mesahq.com> To: Alpine People (E-mail) <alpines(at)autox.team.net> Date: Thursday, December 17, 1998 7:33 AM Subject: Series IV
