Chris,
I had a 1098 Sprite for 16 years having sold it in '94 with its'
original SU pump and 75,000 miles on the clock. I can vouch for their
reliability. Only once did it quit working, and a little cleaning of
the points was all it needed. It uses 1/4 inch fuel line and easily
pumps more fuel than a SV could need.

Sprites (and Midgets) had the pump mounted in the right rear cavity
bolted outside the trunk bulkhead just behind the axle and seemed to
survive perfectly well. Located in that spot, there was no chance of
the up & down motion of the axle coming in contact. You do want to keep
it as near the fuel tank as possible. Sprites ran their exhaust along
the left side - well away from the pump, so that's something to keep in
mind.

Hope this helps,
Don
