I meant to add to my original e-mail that the only pictures I found
remotely close were of the Harrington LeMans. It does not look like those
could be used. The front does not end at the door, but shoots forward a
foot or so. And, the rears droop down with the similarly drooping rear
end.

James did say that if it was a home job, it was a really nice job. Each
end was tapered to match the end of the door or fender.
James, we're still waiting for your input and pictures up on the web.

Something like that was never offered by the factory, so I would suspect
it's homemade.

Ok, so I was only gone for one week on vacation. But, the e-withdrawls
were strong. While I was up in Northern California, I got to meet a bunch
of Sunbeam folks. One of whom was James (sorry, I don't recall your last
name. I just know it was not Bond). He has a SII that has a chrome strip
on the side which he said looks like it was made specifically for the car.
He did not have the car with him. But from his description, it starts at a
point on the front edge of the door, is about 1.5" wide, and goes back to
somewhere in the vacinity of the rear fin. I thought I had seen something
like that in a picture in the Horn once. However, on getting home, I found
the picture I was thinking of - no such chrome strip. The car did have the
hood chrome, badge bar, and lights. I also checked the article the Horn
had about the factory accessories for the SI-III. Nothing about the
chrome. First, does anyone know about it? Second, James, I believe you
owe it to the Sunbeam community to get pictures scanned and placed on the
web. Or, are they already there?

Jay
