To The Group,
I'm sure that Jim is a good fellow and that this is more than likely a
communication error. I got concerned when the email address Jimdamelio(at)aol.com I
used to inquire about the status was no longer working. I thank everyone for their
responses to me about this matter. So far, I have received two email addresses for
Jim and am trying both. The last thing I want to do is to give Jim a bad rap. In
his defense, I did change my email addr*ss as of December 31, so if he may not be
able to contact me. I will publish the resolution when it comes.
BTW, the La Carrera Sunbeam is still in the shop. I had hoped to have it back by
now, but the guy doing the work took me seriously when I told him I was in no
hurry. New floors have been fitted, a roll bar has been installed and the engine
is currently being built. I decided not to use the original engine just in case I
throw a rod. I hope to have the car back by spring so that I can run a few races
at Road Atlanta to break her in.
For those who did not see my posts last spring, I am preparing a Series III GT to
race in the 1999 La Carrera Panamerica, a seven day race through Mexico. I
purchased the car through this list as well as many other parts. The car is going
to be stock, but "period" modifications are allowed. Any suggestions on
performance options that were available would be greatly appreciated. During the
race, I will be posting daily updates on our progress. Look for these in October
1999.
