Andre,

I just r/r'ed my cylinder head (SV Alpine) and I noticed that most of
the manifold mounting holes have helicoils in them. If you are not
familiar with helicoils, they are thread inserts. The hole is drilled
and tapped larger that the required stud and then the helicoil insert is
installed thereby bringing the hole down to the required size. In your
situation maybe just the helicoils are damaged. If the head is not
equipped with the inserts (my mechanic told me they were OEM) you could
drill the holes out and put them in.
