RE: Conversions and Originality, my 0.02$

I love it when I can start a debate without even meaning to. This one seems
age old and will never die.

I have a couple of people interested in saving my little 'pine. If this
happens I will still need another for my swap. So far I am down to a couple
of possibilities: one in San Diego from Smitty's. It's a Series V with no
motor or gearbox - perfect, but I'm not sure about the body condition since
it sounds a bit rough. Dick has checked it out and will advise if I should
fly down. There is also a guy with one in Atascadero. It's yellow and has
been sitting in a barn (does that really happen?) for 10 years even though
it was running 9 months ago. Still need to get photos and talk to the guy.
Funny thing is now I'm all excited about having a later series car and
giving up the fins for a trunk - fickle like a....never mind.

Touchy, touchy. You go ahead and butcher YOUR car whilst
mine goes up
in value. Don't take it personal that some have strong
feelings about
keeping cars original. I certainly don't take your strong
feeling
personal. I fully agree, it's your car do do with as you
wish.
Despite what you say, Alpines and Tigers are quite rare when
compared
to MG's and Triumphs, and are even more so in the UK. As
far as what
makes them worth saving? Well, if you can't think of a good
reason,
then by all means, modify to your hearts content. It's a big
world,
there's room for both of us.
