Andy,
When it comes to air compressors bigger is better.  Buy the biggest
one you can afford.  My little 3.5 hp doesn't cut it for constant use
as in sandblasting or a glass bead cabinet.  And be prepared to buy
filters and water separators or you'll be blowing water.  Mine got so
bad I put it in the shed and run metal pipe ( don't use PVC ) though out
my garage with quick connects and plenty of filters and separators.
Now its nice and dry.
