HELP! with '64 Alpine

Hello, all.

My name is Matt Trebelhorn, and I have just joined this list. I do not own an
Alpine, but may very soon have a '64 on my hands.

The car itself is in poor shape -- a few years back, it bottomed quite heavily
and broke the rear axle casing. It has since sat for many years outdoors. It
still runs, but is in rough shape. The current owner -- my girlfriends' father
-- has offered it to me/us to fix up.

I have some experience with cars in need of help (growing up, family transport
was an alfa and a fiat) and with restoring British cars (my current daily driver
is a '70 MGB roadster, pulled out of a field 10 years ago) but little to none
with Alpines. I need info, guidance, suppliers, references, etc. to help me
get started on this project.

Any help would be appreciated.

Matt
PS. the car would essentially be a gift to us, and would mean a great deal to
my girlfriend -- advice like "walk away and forget you ever saw that rustbucket"
may, in the long run, be correct, but will not be heeded.
