My mirror was originally glued in, but it popped out when I carefully
pried it out from its base. I had a new mirror cut out, using the
original as a template. The mirror that was cut out was thicker than the
original, but fit back in without a problem. The glass guy told me that
certain glues would corrode the silver of the mirror, but before I found
the right glue, I found that the mirror fit snugly without glue. It
hasn't popped out yet.

I have looked into silvering an old mirror and have not found
anyone that will do it.
very environmentally unfriendly. I had a guy quote me $10.00 to cut a
new rearview mirror but he didn't promise hw wellit would fit.
