A newbie who just bought a Alpine

Hey gang,
Finally got my Alpine yesterday. Boy is it great to finally have an
Alpine. By the numbers, it should be a Series V.(B395001459) Shouldn't
it have the small pinstars on the front fenders or was this something
added to later? I've been on this list for 2 months reading about
Alpines and I've got a couple of questions. First, the PO left this car
out in the weather with no top and everything is pretty well rusted
inside, question is, where is the best place to look for some interior
parts? Second question, the engine is a 1725. PO said the thing threw
a rod or something and he stopped driving it. Weel, it's locked up(hard
as a rock, breaker bar wouldn't do anything, so, I was wondering if
anyone has ever installed a 2300 Ford 4 cylinder in an Alpine? Yes, I
know how some of you feel about changing the engine, but, I'm on a
limited budget, and I was very happy to save enough money to get
it(drove 300 miles one way to get it!) I'm also needing a grill and
the headlight rings. Would anyone be interested in the 1725 and
trans.? Oh, by the way, did Alpines come with oil coolers? This car
has one that is disconnected. Well, thats all.
Thanks for any help in advance. Glad to be finally on the LIST!
