Rob,
        I can just vaguely picture in my mind (from 1965), the seat belts that
were in my series 1. They were made from white webbing, very old style
aluminum buckles (where one had to thread one end, of the nylon webbing,
into the slot of the buckle. It used a clam action to secure the belt;
Very Neanderthal!). The dead ends, of the belts, clipped to 3/8"
eye-bolts that went through the floor pan. They were very ugly. My older
brother removed them and they spent their last years in a grocery bag.
